This policy describes how FormaFlow for macOS handles information. FormaFlow is published by Lav Chaudhary (QOL Apps). It applies to the FormaFlow app and its file-conversion features; it does not replace the separate privacy policy for the QOL Apps website.
At a glance
FormaFlow processes files on your Mac. The app does not collect or transmit personal information, file contents, conversion history, or usage analytics to the developer or to third parties. It does not require an account and contains no advertising or tracking.
Files and folders
When you choose or drop files into FormaFlow, the app reads the selected files locally to perform the conversion you requested. It writes each converted result as a new file beside the source file and does not intentionally overwrite the source or an existing result.
You may optionally choose folders for automatic conversion after a supported file’s extension is changed in Finder. FormaFlow stores macOS security-scoped bookmarks for the folders you select so it can retain the access you granted. While the feature is enabled, the app checks the selected folders locally for file changes and converts eligible files on your Mac. It does not send folder names, file names, file contents, or conversion results over the network.
You can remove a watched folder in FormaFlow Settings to stop monitoring it and remove its saved bookmark. You can delete converted output files using Finder. FormaFlow creates temporary working files for some conversions and removes them when the conversion operation finishes. If the app or Mac stops unexpectedly, normal macOS temporary-storage cleanup applies.
Information stored on your Mac
FormaFlow stores the bookmarks for watched folders in its local app preferences using macOS UserDefaults. These bookmarks let macOS restore access to folders that you explicitly selected. This information remains on your Mac and is not sent to the developer. Removing a watched folder in Settings removes its bookmark from FormaFlow’s preferences.
FormaFlow does not maintain a cloud account, online file library, or server-side conversion history.
Network access, analytics, and advertising
Conversions run locally using Apple’s system frameworks and codecs bundled with FormaFlow. The app does not include a network client entitlement and does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No file or app-usage data is uploaded by FormaFlow.
Apple may process information independently when you obtain or update FormaFlow through the Mac App Store. App Store activity is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy, not by FormaFlow.
Third-party software
FormaFlow includes locally bundled open-source components for certain format conversions. These components process files on your Mac as part of the conversion operation; they do not provide an online service or transmit your files. License notices for bundled components are included with the app.
