For Doomblock, an app blocker by QOL Apps. Doomblock is designed to work on your device — we do not operate an account system, backend, analytics service, advertising network, or cloud-sync service.
The short version
Your selected apps, focus sessions, schedules, streaks, and Screen Time report information are processed and stored locally on your Apple device and its protected app extensions. We do not sell your information, use it for targeted advertising, or track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Screen Time and app-selection information
When you grant Screen Time permission, Doomblock uses Apple's Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks to provide blocking, schedules, Strict Mode, shield screens, and reports.
Apple presents the apps, categories, and websites you choose through privacy-preserving opaque selection tokens. Doomblock does not receive a readable list of the selected app names from the picker. The selection tokens and related blocking configuration are stored locally so Doomblock and its extensions can apply and remove shields.
Screen Time activity information used for Doomblock's weekly report is processed by Apple's Device Activity framework and the Doomblock report extension on your device. Doomblock does not upload your usage totals, pickups, app names, categories, or per-app report information to QOL Apps.
Doomblock app state
Doomblock stores the following information locally on your device:
- Focus session start and end times, duration, mode, outcome, and shield-hit count.
- Streak totals, best streak, and the date a streak was last credited.
- Scheduled block names, days, times, enabled state, Strict Mode state, and local selection tokens.
- Temporary one-minute pass records and the local pass counter.
- Whether local notifications are enabled.
- Local integrity history, such as a Break Glass event, a Screen Time authorisation interruption, a clock-change event, or a reinstall gap.
- Local Pro entitlement state needed to unlock subscription features.
This state is stored in the App Group shared by Doomblock and its extensions. A random installation integrity token is also stored in the iOS Keychain to help Doomblock detect a delete-and-reinstall gap during Strict Mode. The token is not your name, email address, advertising identifier, or a usage record.
Purchases and subscriptions
Doomblock offers optional Pro subscriptions through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes payment details, billing, and subscription transactions. QOL Apps does not receive your payment card number or bank details.
Doomblock receives the limited StoreKit information needed to determine whether a Pro entitlement is active, such as the product identifier and transaction or entitlement status. Purchase restoration and subscription management are handled through Apple.
Notifications, widgets, and Live Activities
If you enable notifications, Doomblock schedules local notifications for completed or ended blocks and for the weekly report. Doomblock does not use a remote push-notification server for these messages.
The Doomblock widget and Live Activity may display locally available information such as your streak, an active block, a countdown, or the Strict Mode state. This information is shared with the relevant Apple system surface through the App Group and ActivityKit. QOL Apps does not receive a copy of this information from those surfaces.
Support email
If you email contact@qolapps.org, we receive the email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use that information to respond to support requests, investigate reported problems, and maintain reasonable business records. Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers, or sensitive information that is not needed to answer your request.
Information we do not collect
QOL Apps does not collect through Doomblock:
- Your name, phone number, or account profile.
- A readable list of the apps you selected for blocking.
- Your Screen Time usage history or per-app usage data on our servers.
- Advertising identifiers for tracking or targeted advertising.
- Precise location, contacts, health information, photos, microphone recordings, or camera content.
- Payment card or bank account information.
- Crash analytics or product analytics through a third-party analytics SDK.
The App may still rely on Apple platform services such as the App Store, StoreKit, Family Controls, Device Activity, ActivityKit, WidgetKit, and UserNotifications. Those services are operated by Apple and are subject to Apple's own privacy practices and terms.
How information is used
Information processed locally is used only to:
- Block selected apps, categories, and websites.
- Start, maintain, and end focus sessions.
- Run recurring schedules and Strict Mode.
- Display streaks, shield hits, reports, widgets, and Live Activities.
- Apply subscription entitlements and restore purchases.
- Send local notifications that you have enabled.
- Detect integrity events that affect Strict Mode and streaks.
- Respond to support messages that you send to us.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share Doomblock usage information for advertising, analytics, or data brokerage. We do not share your local app state with QOL Apps because it remains on your device.
Information may be handled by Apple when you use Apple's operating-system features or App Store services. Apple may process information under Apple's privacy policy, independent of QOL Apps. We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of QOL Apps, our users, or the public.
Retention and deletion
Local Doomblock state remains on your device until you change it, reset the relevant Apple permission or system state, or delete the App. Deleting Doomblock removes its local app data and Apple-managed shields associated with the App, but an iOS Keychain installation token may persist across reinstallations so Doomblock can detect a reinstall gap. That token is a random value and is not used to identify you.
- To stop Screen Time access, revoke Doomblock's permission in iOS Settings.
- To stop local notifications, disable Doomblock notifications in iOS Settings.
- To remove local Doomblock state, delete the App from your device.
Because QOL Apps does not receive or store your local Doomblock usage history, we cannot remotely delete or export data that remains only on your device.
Security
Doomblock uses Apple's app sandbox, App Group protections, file protection, Keychain storage for its random installation token, and Apple's Screen Time authorisation model. Security can also depend on your device passcode, Apple account security, and iOS configuration.
Children's privacy
Doomblock is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to contact@qolapps.org, please contact us so we can review and delete the information where required by law.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or objection to the processing of personal information. To make a request, email contact@qolapps.org and describe what you need. We may need to verify the request before responding.
For information that exists only in Doomblock's local storage, the fastest way to delete it is to delete the App from your device. QOL Apps cannot access local usage information that has never been transmitted to us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Doomblock's features, Apple platform integrations, or legal requirements change. We will update the "Last updated" date when we make changes.
