Privacy Policy

Client Exit processes your case information and files locally.

Effective date: October 2, 2026

This policy describes how Client Exit for macOS handles information. Client Exit is published by Lav Chaudhary (QOL Apps). It covers the app and its file-review features; it does not replace the separate privacy policy for the QOL Apps website.

Overview

Client Exit helps you review client-related files in selected locations on your Mac, record decisions, create verified archive copies, move approved files to Trash, and export a review report. It processes your case information and file contents locally. The publisher does not operate an application backend that receives your case information or source files.

Information the app processes on your Mac

You may enter case labels, names, domains, project codes, other identifiers, excluded terms, review reasons, and retention reminder dates. These can contain personal or confidential information depending on what you enter.

When you grant access through the macOS file or folder picker, Client Exit processes the selected search locations and references. It may read file names, paths, sizes, modification times, file identity information, and SHA-256 fingerprints; supported document text; and text recognized from supported images or PDF pages using Apple’s on-device frameworks. It stores matching evidence and limited source excerpts, confidence categories, coverage gaps, review decisions, scan summaries, and file action records. It also checks local disk capacity before saving a case. Persistent macOS permission bookmarks allow it to reopen locations you selected.

Client Exit does not request whole-disk access, contacts, camera, microphone, location, or access to your email or messaging accounts. It excludes unsupported internal application storage and known cloud or provider locations. Detection has limits: use confirmed local staging folders, particularly for material managed by sync or File Provider software. The app cannot guarantee that other software will not sync a selected location.

Purposes of local processing

The app uses this information to find possible matches, explain the evidence, record your review decisions, check that a file has not changed before an action, respect retained versions, verify archive byte-stream copies, record observed action outcomes, and produce reports. It does not use source contents for advertising, profiling, model training, or a developer-hosted AI service. Matching requires human review and does not establish file ownership, legal retention duties, or complete removal.

Local storage and security

Each case is stored in a SQLCipher-encrypted database in the app’s macOS container. Its random encryption key is stored in the local macOS Keychain with synchronization disabled. The app requests exclusion of managed case files from ordinary backups where macOS supports it. Case evidence and scanning or extraction state also exist temporarily in memory. Extraction runs in an inherited sandbox worker with input and output bounds and deadlines.

Encryption applies to Client Exit’s managed case database. It does not encrypt your original files, archive copies, exported reports, Finder’s Trash, or files opened in another application. Security also depends on your Mac login, operating system, FileVault and backup settings, and other software. No system can guarantee absolute security or protection from a compromised device.

What leaves your Mac

Client Exit has no developer-hosted account, file upload service, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or tracking endpoint. The app does not transmit case labels, identifiers, file paths, source documents, extracted text, OCR text, review decisions, or reports to the publisher. Apple’s text recognition and PDF processing used here run locally.

Purchases are a separate interaction with Apple’s App Store services, described below. Opening the published privacy-policy link launches your browser and can disclose normal web request information to the website host. Opening or revealing a file passes the selected file to Finder or its associated application; that application’s privacy behavior is separate from Client Exit.

Your chosen archive or report destination, source folder, backup tools, or another application may copy or sync files elsewhere. This is outside Client Exit’s control. A lack of an application networking entitlement does not mean macOS, Apple’s StoreKit services, or other applications never make network requests.

App Store purchases

Client Exit offers a non-consumable, one-time full unlock through Apple StoreKit. Apple processes payment and manages purchases using your App Store account under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. The app does not receive your payment card details, billing address, or App Store password.

StoreKit makes product information and signed transaction or entitlement information available to the app, such as the product identifier, transaction identifiers, purchase status, purchase date, environment, and refund or revocation status. Client Exit verifies entitlement information on your Mac to enable purchased features and restore purchases. It does not forward transactions to a developer server or use a developer account identifier to track you. Apple may retain purchase records under its own policies.

Price loading, purchasing, purchase updates, and restoring purchases may require a connection to Apple’s services. Local file scanning and review do not require uploading your files. After an entitlement is available locally, the app can use StoreKit’s locally available verified entitlement; the availability of purchase or restore information is managed by Apple. A refund or revocation can remove access to paid features without deleting your existing case data. Existing case review and report export remain available in preview.

See Apple’s Privacy Policy for Apple’s handling of App Store and payment information.

Reports, archives, and Trash

Default report exports conceal source file names, paths, and excerpts. Case labels still appear unless you choose a pseudonym. Detailed exports can include relative paths and evidence, and all exports can contain information about your review. Review the preview and destination before exporting or sharing.

Archive copies retain the source file and are stored in the destination you choose. Moving a file to Trash is not permanent erasure and may permit recovery through Finder. Client Exit does not verify removal from backups, cloud services, other devices, inaccessible application storage, or unexamined files. You control any subsequent sharing or permanent disposal of reports, archives, and source material.

Retention and deletion

Managed case information remains on your Mac until you close or remove a case. Closing a case purges identifiers, excluded terms, excerpts, review-ledger entries, and stored fingerprints from the current managed record while retaining the review summary, scope, file names and paths, decisions, and action history. Closing a case does not remove the whole database or sanitize your entire device.

Removing a case removes its managed database, associated database sidecars, and local Keychain encryption key. These controls do not delete source files, existing archive copies, exported reports, Trash items, operating-system artifacts, third-party copies, or independently created backups. Uninstalling a macOS app may leave its container or Keychain items; remove cases in the app before uninstalling if you want to remove managed case information. Deletion is not a guarantee of forensic erasure from storage hardware or backups.

Diagnostics and support

Client Exit does not include automatic publisher-directed crash reporting or usage telemetry. macOS and Apple may collect diagnostics according to your device and App Store settings. Local error messages can contain operational details; review screenshots or logs before sharing them.

If you voluntarily email the publisher for support, the publisher receives the information you send, which may include your email address, message, and attachments. Do not send client files, passwords, encryption keys, or unredacted evidence unless necessary. Support correspondence is used to answer and resolve your request and is retained only as needed for that purpose and applicable obligations. The publisher’s email provider may process that correspondence. Contact the privacy address below to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to lawful retention requirements.

Tracking, advertising, and sale of data

Client Exit does not track activity across other companies’ apps or websites, display advertisements, sell personal information, or share case information with data brokers. It does not require an app account or collect device identifiers for marketing. The publisher cannot retrieve your local cases or encryption keys remotely.

Your choices and requests

You choose which folders and references to authorize, what to enter, which matches to review, and which actions to approve. You can change decisions, close or remove cases, manage exported files, and stop using the app. macOS controls access to your selected files, Keychain, and local authentication; purchase restoration and refund requests are managed through Apple.

Because case data stays on your Mac, the publisher cannot access, correct, export, or delete that data on your behalf. Use the app’s local controls for those actions. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights concerning personal information you separately provide to the publisher, such as support correspondence. Contact the privacy address below to make such a request.

Children

Client Exit is intended as a professional file-review utility and is not directed to children. The publisher does not knowingly solicit children’s personal information through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to the publisher, contact the privacy address below.

Changes and contact

The publisher may update this policy when the app’s behavior or applicable requirements change. The effective date will be updated with the revised policy. Review the policy for the version you use, particularly before sharing exports or purchasing features.
